Iosephiados comaedia ex Genesis lib. cap. 39. 40. 41.

  • First performance: not known
  • Author: Andreas Rochotius (1583-1612)

The play Iosephiados comaedia ex Genesis was published by the Šumanský printing house in Prague. Although the printed edition bears no date, a prefatory poem by Jan Campanus Vodňanský indicates that the play was written, and most likely also published, in 1607. Rochotius dedicated the work to his patrons, Karl I of Liechtenstein and Weichard of Salm, as a New Year's gift. Iosephiados comoedia was probably not written for a specific theatrical performance, and no evidence has survived that it was ever staged.
