- Author: Joannes Rirenschopff, SJ (1710–1782)
The play St. John of Nepomuk, Since his Youth Famous as an Example of Virtue and Scholarshippresents John of Nepomuk as an exemplary student. The play is based on the principle of psychomachia, where two groups of characters clash: Theolater and his aids Eusebius, Philotheus and Palladius lead young people to virtuous life in their school, while Philocosmus and his courtiers Eleutherius, Cosmogenes, Vanophilus etc. tempt them to be idle and enjoy the pleasures of life. The latter try to win John over, but he unwaveringly resists their decoys.More info in Czech
